“On a highway way home and says reduced engine power like 3 days after getting transmission replaced had to get it towed I had my kids with me and mechanic told me it's the engine it had no oil in it when it did have oil before that happened it didn't show leaking or nothing now I'm out of my money under 86,000 miles yet 2011 Terrain”
NHTSA complaint #11388916, filed 2021-01, 83,000 miles“Driving home from work and making a right hand turn the car started making a horrible grinding noise. I thought my wheel was coming detached from the car. Had the car towed and have been told that my front differential exploded . Not a happy camper, bought 2nd hand, has 77,000 miles now costing me 2500.00 to 5000.00 to repair. Sad thing is, is we never use the 4 wheel drive.”
NHTSA complaint #11163571, filed 2018-12, 77,000 miles“I was having the struts and shocks looked at in my car. While the worker finished the job, he put the car down and took it for a test drive to make sure it was good to go. One that test drive, he said something did not seem correct. After he got it back to the shop and back on the rack, the frame was cracked and rusted through. This was not the case when my car was previously worked on by getting a new ball joint back in the fall of 2019.”
NHTSA complaint #11325677, filed 2020-05, 129,354 miles“My wife was driving the vehicle and went over a bump and heard a bang come from the rear driver side of the vehicle . When I looked you could see the were the rear suspension bolts to the sub-frame was all rusted away, so I inspected the passenger side of the vehicle and it was almost like the drivers side. If the bushings were not tight that arm would have fallen down and it would have ripped the whole rear of the car out causing and accident were people would have been injured or killed.”
NHTSA complaint #11292583, filed 2020-01, 128,000 miles“Noticed check engine light came on when I turned on the engine. Since, I just bought the car the day before, I thought may be it need an oil change. So, I drove it but it stalled when I get to the stop sign in the parking lot. I turned the engine back on, drove about 15 miles and when I got to the traffic light, I slowed down to make a right (light was green), the car stalled and locked the steering wheel! I am thankful there was no car behind me. I just do not feel safe driving that car.”
