“I own a 2002 Gmc Yukon Denali and little by little the lights behind the instruments on the dash and steering wheel buttons have blown out. The dealer said the only replacement would be for the entire units and I would have to pay for it. Components work fine but cannot see at night which makes driving and trying to figure out the instruments are difficult.”
NHTSA complaint #10179203, filed 2007-01, 66,000 miles“The headlights are supposed to shut off after the dome over ride button is pushed four (4) times within six (6) seconds per the manual but the headlights are shutting off after sometimes 1 hit or 2 or 3 and sometimes 4. Driving home late one night on a busy denver interstate we I hit the button once and all the lights inside and outside went off. Very dangerous. The dealer says they don't know what to do as there are no manufacturers notices and the computer says there are no problems.”
NHTSA complaint #10016796, filed 2003-04, 20,000 miles“The contact owns a 2002 Gmc yukon. The contact stated that the ignition failed and it took several attempts to get the ignition switch into the start position. The contact's personal mechanic advised that the ignition switch needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 90,000 and the current mileage was 148,809.”
