“Dt: the anti-lock brakes pulsated at low speeds. The consumer could feel it in the pedal and could slightly hear it kick in. It did this on dry roads NHTSA recall 05v279000 was issued in august 2005. But this vehicle was not included in the recall due to VIN. Went to the dealer and basically said the recall would not go into affect until november 2005. Started noticing this around july 15, 2005, and it did this occasionally.”

NHTSA complaint #10136719, filed 2005-10, 140,000 miles

“Brake lines near the master cylinder rusted to the point of complete brake failure. Luckily, I was in a parking lot when it happened and was able to recover using the emergency brake. I do not drive this vehicle on the beach, nor has it ever been in a flood. Brake lines replaced at high cost.”

NHTSA complaint #10152473, filed 2006-03

“I have seen the recalls for the light duty SUV and the investigation of the suburbans and I think my Yukon has similar problems. Increased stopping distance and soft brake pedal. I don't want to be in an accident to prove it.”

NHTSA complaint #708955, filed 1999-07

“In august 1997 original manufacture battery leaked acid thus corroding the air bag sensor, positive & negative cables & corroding other metal parts to frame of the Yukon. There is now visible rust due to the acid leak. Gm dealer martin Gmc replaced the battery under warranty. For the second time on 11/24/99 with the 1yr battery GM replaced leakage occured again. This time my anti-lock brake sensor light came on. Needless to say, I had to pay out of pocket $543.94 for replacement of sensor, new front brakes, & new rotors for a vehicle with only 54,194 miles. …”

NHTSA complaint #717905, filed 2000-01

“Brakes lock unexpectedly at low speeds. Often without brake pedal pressure, and always without warning. Problem has existed for about six months. Several mechanics (including Gmc) have tried to identify the problem. Each had an expensive solution, none of which has worked. This is a very dangerous condition which is destined to cause an accident. There are other complaints of this type (same make model and year) on your website.”
