“Events leading up to incident unknown. I have a 1999 Yukon, purchased used in 2001. At 160,000 miles the rif=ght rear spring broke at the rear shackle. At 166,000 miles the left rear spring broke at the same location in the same fashion.”
NHTSA complaint #10124534, filed 2005-06, 166,000 miles“The contact owns a 1999 Gmc Yukon. On april 20, 2009, the vehicle would not accelerate past 20 MPH. There had been no prior failures with the transmission since purchasing the vehicle used in january of 2009. In addition, there were alignment issues that caused the tires to explode, tie rod failure, brake failure, and the fuel gauge displays the incorrect amount of fuel in the vehicle. The failure mileage was 100,000. Updated 5/27/09 the upper and lower ball joints, lower ball joints, idler arm, steering gear, rack and pinion were all replaced. Updated 06/02/09.”
NHTSA complaint #10266159, filed 2009-04, 100,000 miles“Vehicle experiences a vibration problem while traveling 65mph or more and it causes the vehicle to be pulled to the left, dealer has tried many solutions to remedy the problem, 3 sets of tires have been changed (different brands and sizes), steering knuckles, drive line balance, and rotations have been done and the problem still exists, possibly a suspension problem.”
NHTSA complaint #558638, filed 2001-01“When driving the vehicle pulls strongly to the right. This has become very noticeable over the last three months. The front right tire is prematurely worn due to uneven pull. Have had alignment done, which did not correct the problem. Taking back to the dealership this week.”
NHTSA complaint #756531, filed 2002-01“Vehicle experiencing problem at highway speed while making right turns. Steering wheel would jerk and vehicle would wander. Dealer/manufacturer notified, and informed consumer that vehicle was not under a recall, and no service bulletin was available. Seeking help from NHTSA in this matter.”
