Example complaints

Suspension: “The rear drop brackets on both sides of the back axle of my 5th wheel RV failed and broke off. The drop brackets attach the leaf springs to the RV frame. While pulling the RV, I noticed a sudden change in how the RV was pulling and it seemed to be unstable. I pulled over and while looking for a cause, I found the broken brackets. I was near a Camping World RV repair store, so I towed it there where the brackets and frame where repaired. …”

NHTSA complaint #11548361, filed 2023-10

Equipment: “The contact owns a 2020 Grand Design Reflection RV. The contact stated that the rear leveling jacks of the trailer were significantly close to the ground while in the retracted position. The contact stated while driving 10-15 MPH downhill, he noticed that the rear leveling jacks were touching the ground. The contact stated that he was concerned because the failure could cause him to lose control of the trailer while driving, which could lead to a crash. The dealer and the manufacturer were not notified of the failure. The RV was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was unknown.”

NHTSA complaint #11578070, filed 2024-03

Other or unknown: “Wanted to inform NHTSA that our 5th Wheel Camper interior wall separated from it's self which can cause slide issues in the camper. This in my opinion is a safety hazard as this is the structure of the camper and can separate at anytime which could cause slide issues while traveling on the road if there was too much weight for the frame. These camper's have two large slides on one side. The concern is too much weight causing structure issues which could break traveling down the road if it were to break loose.”
