2008: “After leaving my house & driving down the street I had complete failure on my front brakes, due to the front brake was in hydraulic lock, luckily the back brakes were still usable. The front wheel was free to spin but no brakes could be applied to it, it did work moments before while in my driveway. I am concerned because most of your stopping power is at the front brake & if one needs it at the wrong moment, that could be fatal, especially if your not expecting it. This bike has ABS brakes & it's the hydraulic control unit that went bad. …”
NHTSA complaint #10984361, filed 2017-05, 8,342 miles2007: “During normal operation of my harley davidson motorcycle, the faulty fuel gauge chronically displays higher level of fuel than what is really there. Failure occurs more times than not. I had the fuel sending unit (sonar) replaced using my extended warranty which cost me $50 out of pocket. The new device worked for approximately 100 miles before failing again. Hd has updated the part number (3x), but no actual repair or correction to the faulty unit developed. Latest fix installs an algorithm that prevents the fuel level from registering unless the bike is running and in motion. …”
