Example complaints

Fuel system: “The fuel gauge is completely inaccurate. I've complained to the dealer to fix it, which worked for a month, but the problem is back. The fuel light is always on and right after filling up my tank the gas gauge will not go above a quarter of a tank, if it goes up at all.”

NHTSA complaint #10891783, filed 2016-07, 15,000 miles

Brakes: “Motorcycle is less then two years old and under 10k miles. After changing break fluid like harley suggested the hydraulic control unit stopped working and the front breaks locked up.”

NHTSA complaint #11083408, filed 2018-04, 8,200 miles

Electronic stability control: “On my 2014 harley davidson vrod nightrod special the front brake lever is rock hard. I can barely squeeze the front brake. The back brake works but front does not. I was going 65mph when I pressed on both brakes and I could not squeeze the front brake lever. Luckily my back still works. I have seen online lots of complain about the harley davidson ABS modules going bad. I also asked the dealer if there is a recall and there is no recall. That is not safe when the front brake randomly stops working.”
