“In 2004 and early 2005 models the judder spring has been installed backwards from the factory. Honda is aware of this problem however has not issued a recall. This caused my clutch to fail at 425 miles in my 2005 Honda rebel. When this failure happened I was in a construction zone and nearly lost my life.”
NHTSA complaint #10155853, filed 2006-04, 425 miles“Consumer complained about transmission problem. When accelerating at times, it seems like the transmission comes out of gear. This causes the engine to make a loud noise while accelerating without making any further movement.”
