“Pulling out on a busy road making a left turn across traffic my hrv lost all ability to accelerate. I coast off the road put in park and turned off the ignition. I the restarted the vehicle and have not had the issue again, it's been a week. However I had this happen twice last year and took my vehicle back to jones honda to have them diagnose the issue. They can find no issue. When this happens I'm always making a left turn. No lights on the dashboard come on either.”
NHTSA complaint #11654139, filed 2025-04“Use this vehicle as a daily commuter for work/school/other personal trips in good faith it would be a solid, reliable car. Had it since February 2022, brand new right off the lot no issues. One morning driving to work, the tire pressure, parking brake, and check engine light indicators all come on while I'm on the highway. I exit to an off ramp and pull into a parking lot to go through the different gears and everything seems okay, so I proceed to return to my commute. Start coming to a stop light at an intersection and the vehicle stalls completely as I decelerate. …”
NHTSA complaint #11554666, filed 2023-11“Vehicle lost power 3 times within a 3 month period, with inability to go above 40 mph on the freeway. Dates of loss of power are: 8/31/25, 9/14/25, 11/16/25 Safety is of grave concern due to loss of power and inability to drive over 40mph on freeway. Took into (2) dealerships three times and they were unable to diagnose issue. The vehicle has been inspected 3 times. This vehicle should be added to the recall listing as this is the same engine issue with losing power. There were no warning lamps, messages or other symptoms prior to the failures.”
NHTSA complaint #11700162, filed 2025-11“In January 2026, at approximately 80,000 miles, the CVT in my 2022 Honda HR-V AWD experienced a major internal failure. The failure presents a safety concern because loss of CVT function can cause loss of acceleration/motive power during highway driving, merging, lane changes, or intersection crossings. The problem was confirmed by an authorized Honda dealer. Honda's HDS diagnostic system initially recorded DTC P0793. The dealer inspected/replaced the CVT drive-pully speed sensor and road-tested the vehicle. The repair did not correct the problem, and the D indicator began flashing. …”
NHTSA complaint #11761109, filed 2026-08“While driving multiple warning lights came on stating braking system failure, collision system failure, check engine lights , Emissions system problem, brake hold system failure etc. There were no lights prior. I was at highway speeds when all of this took place which could have turned out to be rather disasterous. The Vehicle was taken to the dealer who stated that this was caused by the drain of sunroof being clogged from the elements. The drainage system backed up and water entered front cabin. Dealer states this is not covered under warranty. Even though this is a near brand new car.”
