“Honda Insight 2019, mileage: 2820 (new), 1.5 l (earth-dreams gasoline engine). I have noted gasoline in the oil crankcase, very strong odor smelled when I checked the oil level on the dip stick. Note: original owner, brand new car, broke-in engine per manual, purchased in june 2019.”
NHTSA complaint #11244719, filed 2019-08, 2,820 miles“Honda Insight 2019 ..AC problem condecar defected and leak ...to fix that problem dealer ask 1300 dollar car only one year old with summer time 90 degree out side I had only 64100 miles highway ..dealer say that s not recall on Insight and the car non under warranty they only do recall on Honda civic AC problem not with Insight”
NHTSA complaint #11338486, filed 2020-07, 40 miles“Engine light came on around 60,000 miles. Indicated cylinder 4 compression off. Eventually diagnosed as blown head gasket resulting in engine replacement costing over $4300. I was told there was an extended warranty on the 2017 and 2018 models but not the 2019 model year. I did purchase one of the first insights produced in the 2019 model year and wonder if I received an engine with the same issue as the 2018.”
NHTSA complaint #11532188, filed 2023-07“There were 2 recalls on my car and both have been serviced. But I keep having issues with a whole host of sensors including check engine light that lights up every week and the car is practically unusable. When the check engine and other lights/sensors trigger, the gas pedal is practically useless and cannot accelerate the car. This is a big problem when I'm on the road and might lead to catastrophic accident. I have taken my car several times to have it checked and I'm still having issues. …”
