“Honda has been unable to address the existing recall for the fuel pump on my car. I've called multiple times between july 2020 and today (october 19th 2020). They state that the parts have not been released to the dealer, and that I should call again in a couple weeks. They are not resolving this issue in a timely manner.”

NHTSA complaint #11365126, filed 2020-10, 23,000 miles

“Fuel pump replaced in 10/2020 for recall 20v314000. In 1/2021 I was passing a vehicle on the interstate when the check engine light started flashing, the vehicle started bucking, and I lost acceleration. After shutting off the car for a few minutes I was able to continue driving at interstate speeds. A local shop read the code and reported a misfire on cylinders 3 and 4. Honda technicians couldn't recreate the issue or view any code history, but during a test drive found that the fuel gauge had stopped functioning. …”

NHTSA complaint #11394766, filed 2021-02, 19,600 miles

“I am writing to report a potentially serious safety issue with my vehicle. My car recently had its fuel pump replaced/repaired as part of a recall. However, only about 2 years after this recall repair, my car stopped accelerating while I was driving. This left me and my toddler stranded in the middle of the road in 110 degrees, creating a dangerous situation for us and other drivers. I took the vehicle to the dealership, where they diagnosed that the fuel pump needs to be replaced again. …”

NHTSA complaint #11604279, filed 2024-07

“My vehicle underwent Honda’s fuel-pump safety recall repair at an authorized Honda dealer on April 1, 2025. After the recall repair, the vehicle developed a sensor warning directing me to return to the dealer. On February 17, 2026, the dealer inspected the vehicle. Its repair record states “HIGH CIRCUIT VOLTAGE” at terminal #2 and “FOUND PIN MELTED IN FUEL PUMP ASSEMBLY.” The dealer replaced the complete fuel-pump assembly at no charge. A dealership representative later told me their mechanic had accidentally caused the melted-pin condition during the earlier recall work. …”

NHTSA complaint #11765734, filed 2026-09

“I received a letter from Honda indicating a recall for the fuel pump impeller. The only thing Honda failed to say was for me to go to a dealership to get this fixed. Instead they sent a letter saying that they know the recall is needed but they didn’t know when they would have the piece available. I believe the letter was received in January 2024. Still to this date I haven’t received a letter from Honda indicating to take my vehicle in for repair. I am not sure how Honda is not prioritizing this as according to their letter our cars can stall while driving causing an accident. …”
