“The struts failed to hold up the tailgate and fall on my wife head, during the loading of our groceries on our recent grocery's outing. The two gas-powered tailgate struts (support rods) that raise and hold up the power tailgate of the Honda Odyssey van's equipped with them failed to hold up the tailgate. They are now no longer functional.”
NHTSA complaint #10490801, filed 2013-01, 72,000 miles“Rear right wheel camber can't be aligned with extensive noise from rear suspension. Concern that suspension could be failing. Have Honda care warranty from the manufacturer but they refused to diagnose and solve the problem. Dealer wants thousands of dollars to tear down and rebuild the suspension at my expense, which is a significant financial burden in spite of the warranty”
NHTSA complaint #10850723, filed 2016-03, 113,000 miles“Rear back hatch suspension shocks leak and lose pressure. Per Honda dealership could be a on going problem and needs replaced every couple of years. Per the Honda dealership, they have seen this happen in vehicles that are a year old.”
NHTSA complaint #10443270, filed 2012-01, 45,724 miles“On 6/18 I installed a set of aftermarket front left and right lower control arms made by Mevotech part #'s CMS601007 (left) and CMS601008(right), Mevotech has installed a grease zerk on the ball joints which are not on the OEM control arms, in theory this might be good but the grease zerk impacts, INTERFERENCE, with the inside of the wheel. The ball joint grease zerk has hard contact with the inside of the front wheel. - I have pictures of the zerk hitting the wheel and the damage to the wheel. …”
NHTSA complaint #11469951, filed 2022-06“The contact owns a 2009 Honda Odyssey. While driving 60 MPH, the contact noticed that the front end of the vehicle began to vibrate slightly. The vehicle was then taken to the dealer, where the two front tires were balanced, but the failure continued. In addition, the contact stated that moments after opening the rear hatch, he was struck in the back when the hatch fell downward. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer and the rear gas struts were replaced. The current and failure mileages were 38,000.”
