“While driving , applied brake and pedal went to the floor car would not stop! Replaced brake master cylinder (typical repair) this did not fix issue. Im am told the the ABS modulator caused this failure. The master cylinder is understandably a dangerous failure point however I have never heard of an ABS modulator causing this issue which can be deadly . The car only has 90k miles which also is an issue as this is not a typical failure. …”

“Since january I have stepped on ther brake pedal at lease 6 times and the pedal has gone almost to the floor. I release the pedal and it came back up to the original position. The dealer did brake maintenance on the front. Said the pads were sticking. Recomended new pads and rotors. I okayed new pads and rotors be done. They also did maintenance onthe rear axle brakes. Yesterday the brake pedal went down to the floor 2 times in 5 minutes. This was all done at the dealership. This morning I dropped the 2014 Honda Ridgeline at an independent auto shop to see if they can solve this problem.”

“The contact owns a 2014 Honda Ridgeline. The contact stated that as he drove various speeds, the emergency brake warning light illuminated, the warning bell sounded and the brakes emitted a strong burning odor. The vehicle was taken to the dealer several times for the failure where the battery cable was reset several times but to no avail. The emergency brake warning light continued to illuminate and the brakes emitted a burning odor. The failure mileage was 3,000. The current mileage was 3,500.”

NHTSA complaint #10593581, filed 2014-05, 3,000 miles

“There was significant water infiltration on left side front at location around and below fuse block and parking brake. Soaked insulation up to driver side seat and back to the windshield on the same side were noted. Water infiltration after heavy rain was severe enough to cause audible parking brake alarm that wouldn't clear completely until the area had partially dried. This alarm is loud enough and persistent enough to cause driver distraction and would become intermittent as carpet dried. …”
