Example complaints

Air bags: “Takata reccall - I own an affected vehicle and despite calling Honda no one has contacted me about providing safe transportation until the issue is fixed. The parts to fix may not be ready until the summer and their own site states that danger includes serious injury and even death. I have been in 2 accidents where the airbags did not deploy and am concerned about the safety of myself and my family when driving this vehicle.”

NHTSA complaint #10836849, filed 2016-02, 38,000 miles

Body and structure: “I responded to a recall for my 2014 Honda Ridgeline on October 19, 2023. I have gone through recalls before and did not think much of it until the dealership informed me that my vehicle was CONDEMNED . I have been calling Honda America ever since and they are not responsive. I was given a case manager as of October 23rd but this case manager cannot get me a loaner vehicle or any other information on how Honda America will make me whole. I have one car in my family and we live in a rural area with no public transportation. …”

Brakes: “While driving , applied brake and pedal went to the floor car would not stop! Replaced brake master cylinder (typical repair) this did not fix issue. Im am told the the ABS modulator caused this failure. The master cylinder is understandably a dangerous failure point however I have never heard of an ABS modulator causing this issue which can be deadly . The car only has 90k miles which also is an issue as this is not a typical failure. …”

Electrical system: “After arriving home from the dealer with this brand new vehicle, my wife on the passenger side could not open the door even though I pressed unlock switch on the driver side. I shut the car off and pressed the unlock button on the key and also tried to pull up the lock manually but I couldn't get it to unlock. After several attempts it finally worked and she was able to get out. The following morning it started working okay but then today the door lock failed again and could not open the door both from inside or outside. …”
