“I was driving the car and its been surging a little when driving can feel forward vibrations and then lets go and dose it again. The incident occured june 30 2014 and I was headed to a stop sign and my car started accelerating on its own and I had to push in clutch and press brakes pretty hard to stop the car from takin off on its own without me pushing the gas. …”
NHTSA complaint #10607410, filed 2014-07, 68,299 miles“I was unaware that Hyundai had issued a recall on these vehicles back on september 2, 2009. My car started not wanting to let me shift out of park, after I had applied the brake to do so. Just last night october 2, 2013. I noticed that my brake lights were on and not my headlights, and the car was in park, and the vehicle was off. I will attempt to get this fixed at the Hyundai dealership in enterprise, al. …”
NHTSA complaint #10546613, filed 2013-10, 110,825 miles“My brake lights do not illuminate when pressing on the brake pedal, and my automatic shift is stuck in park unless I press the button in the small hole located to the upper left to unlock it. I was informed by Hyundai that it sounded like I had a broken switch located by the brake pedal and that it was causing the brake lights to not register when I pressed in the brake pedal. I have an appointment for tomorrow but if there was a recall done on other VIN numbers and mine isn't listed I'm going to be upset.”
NHTSA complaint #10482604, filed 2012-10, 33,568 miles“I was slowing down to make a turn and my car stops running wasn't able to shift in to second gear it stalled for about a minute before I could start it again it did the same exact thing the next day on 12-09-2014 when I was slowing down and tried down shifting and today 12-10- 2014 on my way home from work went to down shifting and my 05 Hyundai Accent stops on the high way took about a minute or two before it would shift or start I was almost hit by another vehicle I took my car to shop to get it looked at thinking it was the clutch and the guy at the repair shop said it was fine.. …”
NHTSA complaint #10663467, filed 2014-12, 77,474 miles“My brake lights malfunctioned causing them to stay depressed and lit up until I disconnected the battery. Now they won't even come back on. I was also having issues with the shifter and it was stuck in the park position. I found out through NHTSA that Hyundai recalled thousands of vehicles for these same problems back in 2009. They said any of these malfunctions could lead to a crash. I had one representative from Hyundai tell me that they don't honor NHTSA recalls. The dealers refuse to replace the stop lamp switch on my vehicle because they won't even acknowledge the recall. …”
