Selected from NHTSA records; personal details are removed. They are consumer reports, not findings.

“While driving on us 95 at night my engine stopped runing. I was traving at 65 MPH.at the time. The car was towed and later inspected. The inspection revealed that alternator had failed because oil had leaked from the valve cover gaskets directly onto the alternator which caused it to fail. This failure also affected the power steering & my lights as well . I was fortunate that my car was not struck as the traffic was heavy. .”

“As I pulled my 8 month old Hyundai Azera out of a parking lot, the cast iron housing holding the upper end of the passenger side tie rod failed, causing the tie rod to fall to the ground. The lower end was still in place but the upper end was on the ground, bolt and carter pin intact . This caused the right front wheel to become disengaged from the steering mechanism, causing the car to hit a parked car. …”

Radio cuts off intermittently. Instrument panel light flickers, and engine will stall for an instant. Back window screen goes up and down by itself. Air conditioner came on without my pushing button. Warning messages will appear for few seconds check engine , ABS failure , etc. Twice took car to Hyundai service department. Told they cannot fix anything unless these events are happening when I bring in car. …”
