NHTSA complaint #11621534, filed 2024-10“The vehicle had been parked at my residence and powered off for approximately two weeks. Without warning, the vehicle spontaneously caught fire originating from the engine compartment. The vehicle was not running, had not been driven recently, and there was no collision or external fire source. The fire caused extensive damage to the engine bay, wiring, and surrounding components. The passenger cabin was largely unaffected, indicating the fire originated under the hood. There were no warning lights, messages, or prior symptoms before the incident. …”
