“My 2007 Hyundai has a problem with the wearing on the front tires. I purchased it in january of 2008, and have had to replace the front tires twice. This causes the vehicle to skid and braking is somewhat difficult. I told the dealer, but there was no resolution.”

NHTSA complaint #10339268, filed 2010-06, 93 miles

“P235/60r18 on Hyundai Santa Fe less than 30,000 miles and we had to replace two tires due to uneven wear .......... Now we receive a recall notice that tires are affected by incorrect tire pressure label. Do we have any recourse? We expected tires to last much longer on this car!!!!”

NHTSA complaint #10237608, filed 2008-08, 29,761 miles

“2007 Hyundai Santa Fe; front right tire locks up while driving. This has happened at various speeds 5 MPH to 70 MPH for the past 2 years. I have had the tires rotated to ensure that it is not a particular tire. I have had the dealer look at the SUV, they said they could not replicate the problem. The dealer states all recall items have been addressed, but our problem still occurs. My wife did an 800 mile trip last month with no problems, the following week she complained it happened 4 times in one week. …”

NHTSA complaint #10419275, filed 2011-08, 53,800 miles

“I have had so many problems with my car. The first problem began years ago with the low beam headlights. I have to replace the headlights for both right and left side about 5 to 6 times per year. This can get very expensive especially if I were to get a ticket. The second problem are the rear tires. I noticed about two years ago that the tires get worn out much quicker than the others, so I'm constantly rotating them. Just recently, it has become worse. Just this year, I have replaced tires twice and have noticed that I need another set of tires. …”

NHTSA complaint #10460753, filed 2012-06, 52,000 miles

“I own a 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe. I now have 50k on my vehicle and I am going on my third set of tires. The last set of tires I bought cost just under $900.00. It has been back to the dealer three times with about five phone calls and every time they tell me that they know nothing about this problem and no one else has this problem. I have had it aligned but no changes were made because everything is within specs. Just had it back to the dealer to check suspension and again to find the same problem, but once again they said nothing is wrong. …”
