“Car has recall. Dealer told me to bring it in they would fix it. Dealer then tells me corporate Hyundai will not allow them to do the work even though dealer has the part. An electrical short within the ABS module may cause an engine compartment fire, even when the car is turned off, increasing the risk of an injury.”
NHTSA complaint #11323398, filed 2020-05, 79,000 miles“I got a letter for a recall for underbody corrosion preventative care, however when I took to the dealer to get this done, the undercarrige/underbody was already too corroted/damaged and Hyundai is not willing to fix it, instead they are trying to offer me $4,800 which will not buy me a new SUV car. And this is due to a manufature deffect.”
NHTSA complaint #11000000, filed 2017-06, 200,000 miles“While I was on the freeway out of nowhere our moon roof exploded. I was very lucky glass didn't get in the face of my 3 year old goddaughter who was in car seat in back. I was lucky as I was cruising around for a while with the glass closed all day but the shade open to allow sun. Im not sure why I decided to close the shade but am very lucky I did or this incident could have been alot worse.”
NHTSA complaint #11281224, filed 2019-11, 260,000 miles“The left sun visor broke at the top of the arm and can't be fixed without replacing the whole thing. When I researched it there were humorous complaints. It falls down and hangs in front of my face as I'm trying to drive. It's incredibly dangerous and has almost caused me to be in multiple accidents. I've been dealing with it for a long time as I don't have the $400 that they want to charge me to fix it.”
NHTSA complaint #11181465, filed 2019-02, 105,000 miles“Friday, aug 12, I parked the car around 6:30 pm. Around 8:40 am, saturday aug 13, neighbors rang my door bell and banged on the my door. The Santa Fe was on fire. My insurance company found no evidence of arson. The car parked for around 14 hours caught fire. Researching online, I found numerous comments from other Hyundai owners who faced a similar experience.”
