“The vehicle has a humming sound coming from right side passenger side when driven 10 MPH in cold weather. The vehicle was taken to Hyundai and because it could not be reproduced there was no further investigation. I was told if it happens again, to bring the vehicle in. I have an appointment on 3/21/15.”

NHTSA complaint #10700798, filed 2015-03, 48,000 miles

“Whenever I look up the recalls my engine type has recalls but every system says none for my VIN. I think it's because I have awd/4wd. However, everything else is the same. I had to replace the catalytic converter, the dealer said at the time they were replacing them for 2wd. Not mine $2000. Now there are transmission issues that will be covered for 2wd with the same engine type I have but not mine. Because I have 4wd this is not right I'm having all the same issues. Can your agency get then to add my VIN# or 4wd to the list? …”

NHTSA complaint #11375698, filed 2020-11, 180 miles

“This car has stalled at least six times in the past six months, usually as we are deaccelerating and in a downhill position (ie: driving slowly down a mountain, coming to a stoplight going down a hill, etc.). It has a new engine as of summer 2020. We took it to a local Hyundai dealership and they ran a general diagnostics check-up with no results. We have searched this problem online for a solution and see many others reporting similar stalling concerns, but when we put our VIN into the recall system, there are no recalls affiliated with this car. …”

NHTSA complaint #11415740, filed 2021-05, 120,000 miles

“I was driving my 2010 Hyundai Santa Fe, the blinker switch started frantically clicking, I than heard electrical sparks from the steering column and than smoke starting coming from the steering column where the blinker shaft was located. Hyundai has had my vehicle for 2 weeks, leaving me and my 8 month old carless. The dealership and cooperate has said that they have never heard of this happening before, and has not given me a courtesy call or vehicle updates. …”

NHTSA complaint #10732467, filed 2015-07, 50,000 miles

“My 2010 Hyundai Santa Fe white pearl paint started peeling 3 years ago and has accelerated rapidly in the past few months. I have 2 large spots on the hood getting bigger every day, lifting on the door handles several spots on the side panels and now a very large patch over the windshield. This is a known issue with tons of owners sharing similar stories all over the internet. Please advise of any options available to join a class action suit or get Hyundai to step up and repair this mess!”
