NHTSA complaint #11342484, filed 2020-07, 66,181 miles

“Somebody has finally died over this defect, now will something be done about it? I have owned 2 Hyundai santafe's a 2013 and now a 2015. The headlamp system on both cars, using halogen lamps, is inferior, unacceptable, for volvo, deadly. This problem is not limited to the Hyundai car brand, but many brands using similar projector halogen headlamp systems. Driving anywhere in like equipped vehicles the low beam headlamps fail to provide enough light ahead of the vehicle to avoid an obstacle coming out of the shadows. Case in point, the uber volvo pedestrian accident. …”

NHTSA complaint #11088575, filed 2018-04, 5,000 miles

“Low beam headlights are very dim. I have taken it in to be checked and have had the bulbs switched out numerous times. It does not help. They said the inside of the headlight assembly is flaking off and that both of the headlight assemblies need replaced. I can not afford to do that! It is a defect on the inside of the assembly its self. I have to drive with my brights on if I drive it after dark. It is very dangerous.”

NHTSA complaint #11508509, filed 2023-02

“The brake light switch is malfunctioning and causing the brake light to stay on continiously. This is dangerous because the brake light stays on so theres no indication that I'm getting ready to stop because the light is already on, increaseing the risk of a crash. The cruise control is also afecteced with this issue because it stop working at the same time. I looked up the recall and it said that 2013 -2015 hydundia santa fee sport vihecles were affected, but when I call the dearlership they said my VIN# was not included in the recall!”

NHTSA complaint #11631945, filed 2024-12

“I I had the car into the Hyundai dealership numerous times for my headlights going out since march 2020 and they went out again on 1/6/2020 is it possible that it could be the wiring harness that is no good.”
