Example complaints

Other or unknown: “Anytime I put it it in hands-free control on the highway. Even on the small highway normal strip the car swings left and right. And also when I'm getting off from the highway hello, Francis smells so close and there's a small bump the back of the car is sliding most of the time.”

NHTSA complaint #11741110, filed 2026-05

Forward collision avoidance: “I was driving at a low speed (10-15mph) with a safe distance between me and the vehicle in front of me when the semi truck in front came to an abrupt stop. I reacted appropriately by pressing on the brake, however, my car accelerated into the vehicle instead. None of the emergency brake systems activated including the automatic emergency braking and front collision warning, which lead to my car driving into the semi-truck.”

NHTSA complaint #11759594, filed 2026-08

Brakes: “My Tucson is applying Automatic Emergency Break without a reason. It happened to me 3 times in a week with my Tucson Hybrid 2024 NLine, it was scary and I was on freeway at 70+MPH and couldn't capture the warning as it popped out for only 3 sec. I see no cars around when this happened and when I checked few forums I see this as a common problem in Hyundai vehicles in recent times and feeling scared. I was lucky enough last week as there is not vehicle behind me when breaks applied automatically.”

NHTSA complaint #11592743, filed 2024-06

Electrical system: “On March 6th, 2026, I spent the day running errands in normal driving conditions and it created a situation that did not charge the battery or switch to gasoline. Several error lights displayed seconds before the car died. The hazard lights failed within 15 minutes of waiting for a tow truck. The dealership service department charged the battery and gave me advice to run the car at least 30 minutes everyday even if runs only in the garage. They told me that it was user error because I don't need to drive a half hour per day. …”
