“The ownership of my 2022 Hyundai Veloster N has been defined by an unresolved safety recall that has left the vehicle undriveable and in the dealer's possession for a month. My attempts to address the issue began in September 2024, when I brought the car in for the High-Pressure Fuel Pump recall (NHTSA 24V528). The dealer performed a software update but declined to replace the pump. The situation escalated on January 2, 2026, when the vehicle suffered a severe loss of power. The dealer then replaced the recalled pump, but the fix was unsuccessful. …”
NHTSA complaint #11715100, filed 2026-02“3 separate injectors have misfired, causing very low power to the acceleration of the vehicle, and creating a safety hazard to drive. There is a misfire engine light. The dealership has inspected these injectors and determined that the OEM parts are prone to misfire. This is a very common issue among, they point out, model year '22 Hyundai cars.”
NHTSA complaint #11681686, filed 2025-08“There have been two instances of fuel injector failures on the 2022 Veloster in within 20,000 miles. The first instance (cylinder 2) occurred at approximately 7,000 miles. The car experienced a sudden loss of power, followed by misfires and smoke from the tailpipe and the check engine light coming on during failure. The second instance (cylinder 1) occurred at approximately 19,000 miles. The car experienced a sudden loss of power, followed by misfires and smoke from the tailpipe and the check engine light coming on during failure. Both instances were repaired by the dealership under warranty. …”
