“Recently I have been noticing my 3rd brake light works when it wants to. If I had to say it probably works 4 out of 10 times you hit the brake pedal. This is an extremely very important issue. State of pennsylvania it is mandatory to have 3 brake lights. Right now, I have 2 working ones and 1 that is undecided when it wants to work. I do not have the VIN handy right now, as I am at work.”

NHTSA complaint #10361633, filed 2010-10, 50,000 miles

“I have had my 2005 Infiniti G35 sedan for 2 years now and about 3 months ago my third brake light would no longer turn on. I was pulled over by a new jersey state trooper informing me of this and he went on to give me a ticket for it. I have not had it replaced yet because I believe it should be a recall by Infiniti since the life of the third brake light should be longer than 5 years on a $40k car.”

NHTSA complaint #10365184, filed 2010-11, 75,000 miles

“I currently own a 2005 Infiniti G35 sedan and I have a persistent problem with the third brake light (the one in the back glass) either does not work, or works intermittently.. I have been doing some research on the matter and it seems like a common problem in the Infiniti forums.”

NHTSA complaint #10365865, filed 2010-11, 56,000 miles

“My rear window brake light fails to work. It is an l.e.d. Unit and should not have failed this early in my vehicle. This is dangerous due to the lack of this light when braking! Infiniti knows of the problem yet charges over $200 to fix the light which is wrong.”

NHTSA complaint #10364283, filed 2010-11, 74,000 miles

“I too have had my center brake light to out intermittently in the past few months. I have not yet taken it in to be checked, but plan to do so in the next week.”

NHTSA complaint #10444336, filed 2012-01, 76,000 miles
