“The high mount third stop light works intermittently on my 2006 Infiniti G35 sedan. This is my wife's car and I am concern for the safety of her and others on the road, as this is a safety light that should not fail. After this has been brought to my attention I have noticed that other Infiniti cars on the road have the same problem. This is clearly a safety problem that should not be overlooked.”
NHTSA complaint #10510607, filed 2013-05, 107,756 miles“Third brake light failed on my 2006 G35 sedan. I looked online and found that this is a very common issue, and was pointed to this site to try and get some action done to cover this problem.”
NHTSA complaint #10379908, filed 2011-02, 45,000 miles“I own a 2006 Infiniti G35 and just learned that my center high mount stop light works intermittently. I have begun to research this and discovered that the problem is very common among cars similar to mine. I know the third brake light was working recently and I have seen it illuminate recently but not always. This concerns me for the safety and repair problems, and for the fact that it seems to be a widespread problem with these cars. I think there should be a factory recall issued for this safety equipment.”
NHTSA complaint #10379244, filed 2011-01, 68,256 miles“Infiniti G35 with third brake light failure. Third brake is an assembly made of LED's and technically do not burn out and last past the life of the vehicle. Dealership refuses to take responsibility as a manufacturer defect. The failure happen 11/11/2010 and third brake light does not work anymore. Nothing has been done to replace failed assembly but looking for parts.”
NHTSA complaint #10365579, filed 2010-11, 60,213 miles“3rd brake light works less than half the time. The reflection of the light when on is visible from the rear view mirror. It has been a concern for about 3 month. Viewed on a G35 forum that this problem is very common for our cars. Filling out to this complaint to try to get a recall for this problem. This problem can potentially cause an accident as the tail lights would look like night lights and not brake lights.”
