NHTSA complaint #10899351, filed 2016-08, 1,400 miles

“I was driving down the freeway and because of traffic, I had to come to stop. I push in the clutch to try and take the car out of gear and the clutch pedal is soft and goes to the floor. This results in a longer stopping distance and I almost hit the car in front of me. Since I couldn't take the car out of gear, the car dies as I come to a stop. The traffic begins to move again and I attempt to start the car. The car lurches from the starter and the car still in gear. The car does not start, but I am able to get the car out of gear and make it a halfway onto the left shoulder. …”

NHTSA complaint #10382928, filed 2011-02, 900 miles

“Ect: automatic transmission control logic / adaptive shift pattern: the vehicle does not produce consistent and reliable response to throttle command when accelerating into and around traffic. On several instances, when pulling out of a driveway into oncoming arterial traffic, there has been no response to throttle input. A delay of 2 ~ 4 seconds has occurred and creates an extremely hazardous situation. This fault has also occurred at freeway speeds when attempting to pass from speeds between 40 & 75 MPH! This behavior was not occur initially, until the car had about 3,000 miles. …”

NHTSA complaint #10448934, filed 2012-02, 3,050 miles

“Hydraulic clutch fluid overheating causing catastrophic clutch piston failure resulting in not being able to engage, shift, or most importantly disengage the current drive gear in motion. The safety condition of not being able to disengage the operation of the vehicle puts the occupants at risk by limiting the ability to prevent collision. I have experienced this failure approximately every 20,000 miles, leaving the vehicle stranded on the highway with each occurrence of the event.”
