“March 7, 2017, nissan agreed to replace the steering column lock on the 2009-2010 altimas and maxima due to the malfunctioning of the electric steering column lock free of charge. I have the exact problem with my 2009 Infiniti m35x which nissan also make. There need to be a recall on this electronic part for all Infiniti, altima, and maxima. It cost $900 to $1,500 to replace the part. I have been stranded several times. Some times in dangerous locations late at night with my children. …”
NHTSA complaint #10991084, filed 2017-05, 119,000 miles“2009 Infiniti m35x will make a hard turn on slightly uneven roads and cause the vehicle to go quickly to the left or right.. Severe hazard and from what I reviewed there are several complaints already about the issue. This is an accident waiting to happen that will ultimately be blamed on the government for having uneven roads because the m35x will go with the road. It is also somewhat difficult to recover to a normal steering after your car is being taken over by the road... This happens extremely fast and is an accident waiting to happen with serious injuries. …”
