“I frequently incur tramlining when driving my M35 infinity. Almost any asphalt surface that has a paving overlap will cause it, and in some instances, it feels as though the steering wheel will be ripped from my hands. In fact, this event occurred yesterday, jul 15 on the east access road in tubac, az. This is truly a serious defect and unbecoming to the infinity brand.”
NHTSA complaint #10413163, filed 2011-07, 12,850 miles“I have a 2006 Infiniti m35x that pulls to the right/left all the time I have changed my tires twice but that did not solve the problem. I have found out from other owners that it is the steering that is causing this problem rack and pinoin.”
NHTSA complaint #10370403, filed 2010-12, 50,000 miles“Vehicle steering seems to have its own mind at almost all speeds and tends to lunge from one side to another requiring continuous correction. The wheels seem to follow most every deformity / irregularity of the road. One instance the vehicle moved over from one lane to the middle of adjoining lane almost causing a crash. When stopping the steering can swing upto 45 to 60 degrees in either direction. Have taken the car to the dealer more than three times - first time with 18000 miles on the car. Have always been advised that everything was normal. …”
NHTSA complaint #10555082, filed 2013-12, 18,000 miles“Driving with cruise control on, 70mph zone, slight downhill speed of 72mph. New rear tires, very good condition front tires, 1 day old 4 wheel alignment, concrete highway surface in sunny dry conditions, approximate outside temp 65. Vehicle and steering wheel jerked to the right with steering wheel displacing approximately 30-45 degrees from center to the right, followed by a jerk and displacement to the left of approximately 30-45 degrees to the left and repeated to the right and left again... Car was uncontrollable... Reduced speed, killed cruise control, lightly applied brakes. …”
NHTSA complaint #10579601, filed 2014-04, 63,400 miles“I bought a 2010 Infiniti m35x from a honda dealer with 80000 miles. During the first highway trip I found out that it's too hard to keep this vehicle within the driving lane without constant steering adjustments. The car moves to one side or the other if the road is not perfect. Also if I took my eyes off the road for a split second I could risk leaving my lane. This is a very unsettling driving experience. I took the car back to the dealer for possible wheel alignment. They checked the wheel alignment and told me that it was off and that it was fixed. Nothing changed at all. …”
