“When I'm stopped at a light the vehicle will start to roll forward unexpectedly and extra pressure needs to be applied to the brake pedal to prevent the vehicle from moving, at this point the brake pedal is almost at the floor and pumping the pedal a few times will restore the brakes to a normal feel. The Infiniti dealer states this is a normal condition and repairs are not needed. This has been ongoing since 04/2015 to present.”
NHTSA complaint #10778289, filed 2015-09, 42,000 miles“The standard QX56 comes with more than adequate room for any size shoe on the accelerator pedal. Less than 10% of the qx models are ordered with the technology package. This package includes a design feature that causes the gas pedal to push back against the operators foot if the radar senses that the vehicle is closing distance too quickly on the vehicle ahead. The mechanical/electrical device that performs this action is mounted to the firewall at the top of the accelerator pedal. I am 6'3 tall and have a size 12 shoe. …”
NHTSA complaint #10433059, filed 2011-10, 100 miles“The contact owns a 2012 Infiniti QX56. The contact stated that while driving 60 MPH and slightly applying the brakes, the brakes seized, causing the vehicle to stop instantly. The contact stated that once the vehicle came to a complete stop, the brakes released and the vehicle functioned properly. The vehicle was taken to a dealer for inspection but they were not able to diagnose the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified. The failure mileage was 7,200.”
