1999 Isuzu Trooper Steering Problems

“Isuzu Trooper 1999 problem after problem, engine burning oil. After the engine was replaced, the engine light illuminated at least 30 times. The dealer gave the consumer all types of excuses until finally they said they didn't know what was causing the light to illuminate. There were other problems such as a hard shift with the transmission, water leaking through the sun roof, difficulty starting the vehicle, uneven tire wear, in just 65,000 the consumer has gone through 3 complete sets of tires. …”

“I drove too close to the edge of the pavement and the two right wheels dropped off the pavement and when I tried to pull the car back onto the pavement, the right front wheel struck the pavement in such a way causing the tie-rod to break which left the right front wheel in a full left turn position, I lost control of the steering wheel and the vehicle continued down the road in a left turn arc causing the vehicle to slide broadside into a ditch which caused the vehicle to roll three times--stopping in the upright position, totalling the vehicle.”

“Floor under seat is not insulated and covered only with a flap of carpet that is cut from one side of each seat to the other side and therefore lays loosely over raw metal with numerous holes , allowing heat and fumes to enter driver compartment. Manufacturer and dealer states that this is the way all Trooper s are made.”
