“You could not read anything on my dash. It was all rainbow colors. I couldn’t tell how much gas I had or if my car was running hot. Basically everything on the dash that tells you how your car is running. We have the carefirst extended warranty and they would not cover it. It cost me out of pocket 2000 dollars to fix. I do have a picture but unfortunately I couldn’t send it”
NHTSA complaint #11597029, filed 2024-06“Battery is drained every time I get an emissions inspection. Next day I have to get it charged and take it the dealer for a software hard-rest. Supposed to fix problem but every year I have the same issue. Never a SW fix available.”
NHTSA complaint #11626107, filed 2024-11“1. ENTIRE engine. And yes (it’s been sitting since May 2024 at Scottsdale AZ JLR) 2. The day after I filled coolant for a 'low coolant' check engine light, my car smoked going uphill and nearly caught fire. I pulled over just in time, then had to walk 2 miles at night, in 30°F weather, without cell service, in the desert. This is a known issue affecting thousands of similar cars, with a Facebook group of nearly 19,000 members reporting the same risks—cars smoking or blowing up without warning, even when serviced per JLR’s recommendations. …”
