“It was like a ghost took over it scared me to death. My lights started flashing, blinker came on wouldn't go off, wipers were going full speed and the dash where it tells you south, north, east and west stop working. It's something definitely wrong with this car and reading the forums with the same issues should be a recall.”

NHTSA complaint #10967412, filed 2017-03, 91,023 miles

“The complaint is on 2007 Jeep Compass with sunroof option. The sunroof is not installed appropriately and when it rains, and the sunroof drains get clogged, the water leaks into the car through the map lights and as well through the floorboards of the car. The water damage can cause long term mold and rust on the frame of the car that would be unknown to the owner. The leaks also can cause mechanical failure to the car. I have already had my speakers fail and cannot imagine what else may fail. …”

NHTSA complaint #10273216, filed 2009-06, 8,121 miles

“I have been experiencing a problem with my car cutting off, especially while stopped at a red light more often than not on local roadways. If it doesn't completely shut off the sensation to cut off is definitely felt. I originally thought it was the spark plugs and had those replaced, however, the situation continues to persist. I have been told on one or more occasions it may be the fuel pump. I was recommended I take my vehicle directly to the dealership. The other issue that is also very pronounced is the noise my engine makes while idling. …”

NHTSA complaint #10836760, filed 2016-02

“1. Fuel pump started arching and nozzle to hose was coming loose-smelt gas while in motion, gas gauge started dropping dramatically 2. Horn stopped working-while driving I tried to warn another vehicle who was trying to back out while I was behind them, luckily they heard me yelling 3. Back windshield wiper stopped working while in motion trying to back out in the rain 4. Struts went 5. Rotors went 6. Cross member-noticed while driving and took 2 weeks before dealership could get my appointment right to get it taken care of since it was recalled 7. Tipm is going. …”

NHTSA complaint #10788964, filed 2015-11

“Windshield just cracked one day while I was driving to work on my 2007 Jeep Compass. Now it has cracked some more and a survey said that the windshield will crack under certain types of weather.”
