“The contact owns a 2017 Jeep Compass. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the hood latch inadvertently unlatched without warning. The contact stated that the safety latch would prevent the hood from opening fully; forcing the contact to stop the vehicle and manually close the hood. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that there were no recalls on the VIN. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 74,000.”
