“My Jeep Compass is having issues starting. I have had to take it to the mechanic twice in the past 3 weeks because it keeps not starting! I've tried jumping the battery and nothing. If it sits just one day without it being started, it will go completely dead and won't take a jump. As of right now, my mechanic doesn't even know what's wrong.”

NHTSA complaint #11395615, filed 2021-02, 37,500 miles

“Once starting the vehicle the car remains in the park position and can not be moved into any other gear. I have been stuck with my daughters in the mid day in the heat because I can not change the gear. I do have a video of it but can not take a picture due to the fact that it will only show my hand on the gear. I have taken a screen shot of the video and uploaded it.”

NHTSA complaint #11208882, filed 2019-05, 13,300 miles

“Owners manual shows reversed polarity on battery terminals in the jump starting procedure section. Chrysler has a recall (t46) out for the corrected manual for vehicles built through april 28, 2017, my car was built on april 29, 2017 and has the incorrect manual but chrysler refuses to provide a correct one, saying I'm not part of the recall.”

NHTSA complaint #11022973, filed 2017-09, 420 miles

“Attached please find my work orders and the number of times I have called tow trucks. Since december 31, 2017, I have been dealing with continuous starting issues with my 2017 Jeep Compass, I have called (5) tow trucks so far, the dealership claims since they cannot duplicate the issue at the dealership, they cannot find anything wrong with my vehicle and continue to return my car keys back to me. …”

NHTSA complaint #11074720, filed 2018-02, 31,000 miles

“My car emergency brake light button has turned on all byitself while I am driving. The car stops and shuts off. Then I am in the middle of the road and I have to put my car in park, press the pull on p button to turn it off. This is a safety issue. A car behind can crash into me. This has happened 5 times since february, this morning was my 6 time. I do not feel safe in my car anymore, afraid of turning off while I am driving”
