“The vehicle was involved in a rear-end and front end collision, the vehicle was stationary at a red light with another vehicle in front. The vehicle behind me rear-ended the Jeep Compass at approx 50 MPH pushing me into the vehicle in front of the Jeep Compass. No airbags deployed and the vehicle's seat belts failed to lock causing myself to hit the steering wheel.”

NHTSA complaint #11267861, filed 2019-10, 37,000 miles

“The service airbag system warning light keeps illuminating. It will stay on for about 30 seconds and then turn off. I have brought the Jeep to the dealership for this issue 5 times. They cannot find the problem. They have replaced the wiring harness and then occupant restraint controller. The airbag light still comes on and off. Jeep has done nothing to rectify the situation, they have told me that I simply have to deal with it. I have filed for arbitration and they have claimed that it is not a safety issue. All times that the airbag light has come on, the vehicle has been in motion. …”

NHTSA complaint #11378202, filed 2020-12, 48,000 miles

“I bought this car in 2018 with minimal miles on it, since then I have had nothing but issues with this car. Currently my oil cooler is leaking and at a mechanic shop because the closest dealer is an hour in a half and they tried to pull a fast one on me last time and I had to call corporate to report negligence. …”

NHTSA complaint #11612936, filed 2024-09

“i bought my jeep compass 2018 5 months ago and is a defected car and has been getting into issues and the dealer ship no cooperating at all and car now is parked cuz the TCM denied (transmission control module )also the engine coolant revoir broke suddenly and they made me pay for that when I don't really drive and the car came like that and I don't know what to do the people at the dealership...... …”

NHTSA complaint #11573715, filed 2024-02

“When starting the vehicle the error message comes on with the man holding the air bag and it comes on bigger in the dashboard too. And feels like the car runs hotter with this message on. If someone is riding in the passenger side and I get into an accident. It could be deadly for that person. So the area is on the passenger side. Yes spoke to the dealer at Flow Volvo in Greensboro NC, and she know about the problem of the car also. I do see in 2017 there was a patrolman that noted the kbb about the situation. …”
