“Lately I been having trouble startimg the Jeep. At first it seems as if the battery is low. Sounds like it wont start but then it slowly picks up and starts if I press the gas. I changed battery but still having trouble. But once its on and running it seems fine. I also have a steering problem. Truck seems to pull to the left”
NHTSA complaint #11322265, filed 2020-04“My Jeep violently shakes when I'm driving speeds of 50+ and it is very dangerous because as we all know highways and freeways are speeds between 55 and 70 and I cannot drive over 50. The other day it started to shake so bad that I had to pull over and almost hit the cement guard rail. I have to transport my grandchildren from time to time and god forbid anything happen to them chrysler will be responsible. I have done research and this issue is called the death wobble and is the perfect name for it. They need to do a recall on this issue before someone gets killed. …”
NHTSA complaint #10884590, filed 2016-07“Chrysler is selling all grand cherokees with aluminum rims, which bend when driven off road, it is a 4 wheel drive vehicle. I feel that when I drive back on road, at highway speeds, the tires may come off of the bend rims. Chrysler will not replace them with steel rims, nor was even aware that hte rims sold would not work off road.”
NHTSA complaint #735579, filed 2000-11“Somehow a wheel popped off of my 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee that I bought used from a certified Jeep dealer a year and a half ago (2002). I am unsure how this happened, but all 5 lug nuts broke off, causing the wheel to completely pop off. Luckily, I wasn't driving more than 10 MPH when this happened. I have never taken my car in to get fixed for anything during the time I owned it. I have taken it in for oil changes and responded to a couple recalls on my car, but that's it. The last mechanic who touched this car was from the Jeep dealership where I bought it. …”
NHTSA complaint #10052952, filed 2004-01“Consumer stated when applying brakes, the vehicle will vibrate, consumer took vehicle to the dealer, and dealer indicated the rotors were warped. . Also the rear taillight lens was broke, the lug nut covers were replaced.”
