“Have had the rotors replaced five times at 48,000 miles. The vehicle's front end shakes uncontrollably when brakes are applied at 50 MPH. At low speeds pulsation and vibration in the front end occurs. Unacceptable that every 3-5000 miles I need to replace the rotors and pads. I cannot afford that. When is chrysler/Jeep going to rectify the problem? When enough deaths or law suits are filed?”

NHTSA complaint #10052300, filed 2004-01, 51,000 miles

“Brakes pads and rotor failure bought new at 8000 rotors vibrating and pulsating and agian at 12-13000 and again at 22000 and again at 36000 and once again at 45000 dealer did take care of the repairs but at one time they charged me for pads at 102.00 very high and right know I have 56000 and again rotor vibrating”

NHTSA complaint #10014016, filed 2003-04, 8,000 miles

“Fuel/propulsion: the vehicle will run after starting for 5-8 minutes then the RPM's drop to 300 and acts like its going to stall; then.the car begins bucking, jerking, and revving up. There are loud clunks from the engine compartments. I have replaced the cam & crankshaft sensors, throttle position sensor and no change yet. Next I am going to replace the fuel pump, filter, the fuel line between them. Air bags: the airbag light goes on and off. The only fix I have read about is the clock spring...talk about money pit!! Brakes: yes. Front brakes have locked up and caused issues. …”

NHTSA complaint #10562653, filed 2014-02, 190,000 miles

“Brake problems with 99 Jeep Grand Cherokee. I have replaced my rotors 3 times since purchasing this vehicle used. Dc has a TSB for this problem, but will only perform it if under 35000. This problem of warped rotors is a danger to myself and the public. Please force dc to correct this problem.”

NHTSA complaint #10016223, filed 2003-04, 45,000 miles

“1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee limited. Have had numerous incidents with the brake rotors warping. I've replaced them twice up to this point and they are requiring a 3rd fix. Currently the vehicle has 64,000 miles on it. I'm averaging 20,000 miles between replacements. Jeep knows about this problem since the brake rotors are on a national backorder but I was told by the service manager that my problems were an isolated incident .”
