“The break tail lamp shots out and had to replace the unit twice this year and the was wiring shots to the break light and it cost me $1500 for the break light wiring shot and the tail light assemble. I have had this problem for 3 yrs consecutive and I think it is a safety issue since it is the breaks lighting and their has been multiple complaints about the same issue for this vehicle on line. I think that chrysler should recall all this vehicles and rewire them for free since it is a safety fitcher. …”
NHTSA complaint #11054913, filed 2017-12, 91,789 miles“Front rotors are warped I have had to get them replaced or resurfaced every 8,000 miles this is a Jeep Grand Cherokee. I find that the brakes start to pulsate every time its time to replace or resurface rotors . I have to pay out money each time this is very dangerous can some one tell me if chrysler has a permanent fix for this please help”
NHTSA complaint #10246749, filed 2008-10, 8,000 miles“2004 Jeep with 42k miles- the brake peddle has one inch of lateral movement. The dealer plans to replace the peddle assy. For about $1,000. My foot has slipped off the pedal when my shoes were wet. I am told that it can not be tighten up only replaced. To me this seems the problem is in the design on the brake linkage, and not due to normal were and tear. Its just a matter of time.”
NHTSA complaint #10217743, filed 2008-02, 42,000 miles“My Jeep Grand Cherokee has 60k miles. Brake discs have been replaced 4 times and resurfaced 2 times since the car had 14k miles. New brake discs last only 6-10k miles before they become warped. When I brake, there is strong pulsation. Contacted Jeep several times but company denied responsibility.”
NHTSA complaint #10227562, filed 2008-05, 14,000 miles“I have a 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee with 15,000 miles. The front brake rotors had to be replaced at 7738 miles, and now again at 15,440 miles. The warping of the rotors makes the car unstable and I have almost been in a few serious accidents, and did have one collision due to this problem. These rotors are flimsy and should be replaced with a better quality part”
