“I've always had trouble with my 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Especially with the fuel system and fuel pump. I've had to replace my fuel pump 3-4 times. Now its reading the RPM extremely high. I've also had to replace my Jeep's computer because I was told that was the problem. It seems there's also electrical issues. I still can't find the exact problem.”

NHTSA complaint #10749052, filed 2015-08, 100,000 miles

“Anytime I hit a small bump in road or when turning the front end loses control and vehicle shakes violently sending me into other lane. Several wires have melted under the hood and the front driver seat gets extremely hot while driving a distance over 13 miles”

NHTSA complaint #11270586, filed 2019-10, 116,007 miles

“Without warning my jeeps engine will shut off. It doesn't matter if it is while stopped or driving it will shut off and not turn back on until about 10 minutes later. When it has shut off it will still turn over and I have power to everything I need but it will not fire up. This happened first on a sunny morning driving in town. I towed it back to my house and could not get any codes. It fired up and I thought it was fine so I kept driving it. …”

NHTSA complaint #11197078, filed 2019-04, 127,000 miles

“My 2004 Jeep has 110,768 miles on it and durring the recent cold spell in western ny the heater and AC stopped working ! My windows fogged up and couldn't see , I was a sitting duck in the middle of the road as I couldnt see. I was told tjat the wiers under/inside the dash behind the glove bkx has melted causing it to short out ? This seems to be a recall issue as if the original wiers r melting during normal use it can cause a fire. Please recall and fix.”

NHTSA complaint #11208033, filed 2019-05, 110,800 miles

“My 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee interior lights stay on and windows will not work. Have had this problem fixed 2 times now and it has happened again. On the internet it says it is a flaw in the wiring harness. A black ground wire breaks. Also the vehicle is developing the death wobble where going down the road if you hit a bump the front end shakes violently. Had this same problem on my 1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Very dangerous.”
