Example complaints

Selected from NHTSA records; personal details are removed. They are consumer reports, not findings.

“The fan for heat and air conditioning suddenly quits working. The fan motor makes a roaring noise. The wipers will only work on high. Our Jeep only has 60k. We have already had an oil leak and had to replace the water pump. Also the check engine light is on code says it's an exhaust leak. We are very disappointed in the over all quality.”

NHTSA complaint #11307110, filed 2020-02, 63,000 miles

“My Jeep stalled in 50mph traffic causing a horribly dangerous situation. I barely coasted to the side of the road, and it wouldn't restart. I had it towed to the dealer where I was later told my tone/reluctor wheel had broken resulting in loss of signal from the crankshaft sensor so the vehicle shut down.”

NHTSA complaint #11396472, filed 2021-02, 104,000 miles

“Msg appearing service shifter, took into shop and stated it could be an electrical wiring but will not know until they break down the shifter. Jeep has already had a recall but I've already taken care of that recall on this Jeep. Reading a lot of people are having the same issue with the service shifter and really should be a recall on this. At this time I have a short to the circuit in the shifter.”

NHTSA complaint #11205795, filed 2019-05, 38,000 miles

“I have a 2015 gran cherokee while parked in my garage the Jeep rolled forward hitting the garage doors , called chysler was told there is a recall but I'm not doing it right ? I asked , what placing the car in park? Or buying a car that is a safety hazard !!!, we should have been warned this car was going to kill someone.!!!!”

NHTSA complaint #10875663, filed 2016-06, 3,600 miles

“I pulled into a parking lot, put the vehicle into park and left the engine running. I got out of the vehicle, when it started to roll backwards. I attempted to climb into the vehicle to stop it, when I fell to the ground and the left front tire of the vehicle ran over my pelvic area. I am positive that the car was in park at the time it started to roll away.”
