“I have a problem with fuel overflowing every time I go to the gas station. I've tried different pumps and different gas stations and have the same problem every time. I bought the car 1 month ago and iyhe overflow has been a constant problem. After researching this problem online, I see this is a problem for many Jeep wrangler owners. This is a costly and potentially dangerous issue.”

NHTSA complaint #11084247, filed 2018-04, 42,000 miles

“Every time I fill my Jeep up, it will overfill and spill out of the hose and onto the fender. I can stop for a couple of seconds before it gets full and add gas slowly and it will stop. I wipe it off every time but it still leaves residue on the fender and side of my Jeep. It also leaves a small puddle in the ground. This is a very bad issue and needs to be fixed.”

NHTSA complaint #10583998, filed 2014-04, 89,480 miles

“When fililng the fuel tank, no matter which gas station I use, the tank overflows when full, spilling gasoline before the pump shutoff can activate. This is stationary, turned off, and level. I've owned this car since feb 2015 and it is a highly repeatable problem.”

NHTSA complaint #11153459, filed 2018-11, 69,500 miles

“Every time I fill up with gas the fuel spills all over the side of my Jeep after the pump shuts off. This happens at all gas stations. I have been reading on the Jeep forums about this problem for years and still no recalls. A lot of gas is being spilled because of this, not to mention it could catch fire.”

NHTSA complaint #10712917, filed 2015-04, 10,000 miles

“Gas tank overflows every time I fill the tank. Internal flange is either non-existent, damaged, or inoperable as this happens every time I fill the tank. Unless I stop the fill short of 16 gallons, gas spills all over the Jeep & usually all over myself as well.”
