NHTSA complaint #11141305, filed 2018-10, 48,575 miles“When I fill up my 2007 Jeep wrangler unlimited sahara, using the pump lock feature on the gas pump, fuel splashes out of the gas cap tube when the tank gets full. Fuel splashes down the side of the vehicle and onto the ground. One time, my son was standing at the rear corner of the vehicle, and gas nearly splashed all over him. Definitely a concern.”
NHTSA complaint #10362072, filed 2010-10, 45,000 miles“While refueling my vehicle, the gas pump does not shut off in time to prevent an overflow and spill of gasoline onto my person and the ground. This will happen everytime I fill up.. The only compensator action I have taken thus far is to estimate the amount of fuel that is needed for a fill up and make sure I stop refueling approximately 1 gallon ahead of this point.”
NHTSA complaint #10376913, filed 2011-01, 21,000 miles“The throttle control light came on at 40 MPH and then started flashing and I had no throttle and had to drive home on idle. This was a used car on the way home from purchase. The Jeep dealer had it for three days and says the garage computer corrected the problem, but it still happens about one a month, I have to pull over, shut the key off and restart for it to work.”
NHTSA complaint #10434125, filed 2011-11, 35,000 miles“Filled up my 2007 Jeep wrangler jk 4 door at the gas station. Upon reaching the full mark, the pump shut off and about 1 second later, fuel spurted out of the fuel neck and cap opening all over me and the side of my Jeep. Since then it has continually happening every time I fill up. I have tried different gas stations to rule out a certain gas station.”
