“Just as all the other 2007 Jeep wranglers my clockspring has gone bad and my airbags and horn malfunction constantly. I filed a reports years ago but that seems to have been removed. I see that the 2008 Jeep wranglers had this recalled, but 2007 jeeps were not good enough. Guess our lives and the lives of our families don't mean squat.”
NHTSA complaint #10865780, filed 2016-05, 115,000 miles“Takata recall....while driving about 68 MPH on an interstate overpass today, my Jeep went into the dreaded death wobble . It was horrifying...I lost control of the vehicle and thought I would fall over the overpass. There was no warning, no bumps or pot holes. This is the scariest thing I've ever experienced on the road. It felt like 4 blow-outs simultaneously. I cannot believe there is no recall on such a dangerous issue.”
NHTSA complaint #10935296, filed 2016-12, 170 miles“At approximately 50mph if I hit a minor bump in the road my Jeep begins to shake violently and control is lost to the vehicle to the point that you must come to a complete stop before regaining control. This is called death wobble by online communities and service repairmen. The incident almost caused a collision as I was unable to keep the car in my lane and ran another car into a ditch. Luckily no one was hurt or property damaged.”
NHTSA complaint #10676301, filed 2015-01, 72,000 miles“I experienced death wobble twice yesterday. The first happened in a curve with oncoming traffic. There was no obstruction in the road. The second was shortly after on a straight stretch. Again, no obstruction in the road. This was so severe my passenger had to help steady the wheel to keep me from crashing into oncoming traffic. There are no after market parts and no lift installed on the Jeep.”
NHTSA complaint #10477985, filed 2012-09, 62,000 miles“Severe shaking in front end, feels like my tires are falling off, when I am on highway! Hard to hold steering wheel in place, I have to pull over and stop in order to get the Jeep under control. I believe this is called death wobble. I am so surprised after all the complaints about this issue there has been no forced recall! I am surprised we didn't crash and cause a pile up on highway!”
