“After charging vehicle using L2 charger, (max 7kw) vehicle threw two error messages on screen. 1) “check electrical system” & 2) “stop vehicle and check power supply” Using an OBDII reader, the car provided error code P1A9096. I also noticed the car stopped charging the 12V battery as the 12V state of charge was down to 22%. I towed it to the dealer and they are currently working on diagnosing the issue.”
NHTSA complaint #11650421, filed 2025-03“Brought in vehicle to complete safety recall SC327 per letter that was received. When I got to the dealership, they advised me that it was completed on 1/9/2025 at the dealer that I purchased the vehicle from. This is not the case as I purchased the vehicle in Indiana but I live in Michigan, this was my first dealership visit since purchasing the car. When the technician checked the car, they found that it was not updated for SC327.”
NHTSA complaint #11637594, filed 2025-01“The vehicle lost the ability to charge on Level 2 and Level 1 charging. I took it to the Kia dealer and they told me it was the ICCU, took then a week to repair.”
NHTSA complaint #11724291, filed 2026-03“During Level 2, 48 amp charging the car continually stops and starts charging roughly every five minutes. After contacting the charging maker, their diagnostic showed nothing wrong with the charger or incoming power, and that the car was stopping the charge. My Kia dealer states it is a problem with the onboard charger. However, Kia support doesn’t seem to acknowledge it. I have seen multiple reports of this is happening including a potential lawsuit, so I’m reporting this as an issue as well.”
NHTSA complaint #11530504, filed 2023-07“While driving along the courtney Campbell causeway there was a loud explosion shaking the car out of control. I was able to pull off the road and inspect the roof, where the exploding sound occurred. I found the glass panoramic sunroof had fractured and was gone from the vehicle. There was only the perimeter of the glass roof remaining. I have filed an incident report with the city of Clearwater and my passenger and I were both seen at Mease Countryside ER. The vehicle is still in my possession.”
