“My ICCU failed while I was driving and I lost power while in a light controlled intersection in Chicago. The screen turned off and I could not see my speedometer or any driving information. I luckily was able to roll to the side of the road and park the car. My car could not change gears, doors would not work, trying to jumpstart the 12V did not work.”
NHTSA complaint #11706602, filed 2025-12“I completed recall in March of 2025 for the ICCU, it failed driving down a busy road in January 2026. Kia did complete the repairs, but only warranties for 12k miles. It seems from forums I am in that this is a common problem. It also caused me to be without transportation for several weeks”
NHTSA complaint #11717383, filed 2026-02“Incident occured october 17, 2024. Was driving approximately 30mph on a local road when lights flashed to check electric vehicle system . Was speed restricted to 25mph (on 45mph road) and was able to make it back home approximately 1 mile away. Car completely shut down in my street prior to making it to my driveway. It needed to be towed to the nearest dealership. No lights in dash working and flickering. …”
NHTSA complaint #11718873, filed 2026-02“My wife was driving my vehicle and it alerted her that she needed to pull over while driving. She managed to get out of traffic but was stranded on the side of the road while waiting for a tow truck. I completed the recall SC327 and it was performed but still had an ICCU failure. Dealer has not repaired it and is waiting on a part but they say it is on back order and has not given me a timeline for repair.”
NHTSA complaint #11645746, filed 2025-03“ICCU unit lost power and the car was unable to drive. Luckily I was parked when it happened but if I had been driving it would have been very dangerous. The part was replaced under warranty but they said it could happen again which really scares me.”
