“My family and I were driving down a busy highway at speed in the middle lane, the vehicle suddenly jolted forward and lost power. Dashboard reported electrical system failure, contact service. Vehicle was recovered to dealer who has been unable to resolve issue and KIA unable to diagnose the root cause of the problem. Very dangerous.”

NHTSA complaint #11625100, filed 2024-11

“Heads up display and speedometer screen turned off while driving. The car would drive but we could not use signals, know how much charge was left, know how fast we were driving, or any of the information needed to drive the car safely. Eventually returned to normal after leaving the car turned off for hours. This has happened twice.”

NHTSA complaint #11614642, filed 2024-09

“Without any previous warning signs or issues, the dashboard screen went blank. I was unable to see my speed, or use my signals and wipers. I tried turning the car on and off and it still wasn’t fixed. I was able to drive the car home and my infotainment system still operated but the screen with the important info is broken.”

NHTSA complaint #11615878, filed 2024-09

“I would also like to highlight the serious safety concern due to cell deviation (imbalance) along with SOC (State of Charge) mismatch as per my car's BMS (Battery management system) which is present in my vehicle and shared with Kia corporate. In an electric vehicle, the high-voltage battery cells, the Battery Management System, and the battery coolant system function as a single integrated safety-critical system. …”

NHTSA complaint #11707768, filed 2025-12

“I am told my car did have the software update for the instrument display but I still experienced issue where I turn on the car and the display in the middle is completely black except it shows D for the gear I am in. Can’t see the speed can’t see if the blinkers are on!”
