2010: “I was driving on route 77 in charlotte at approximately 60 MPH. While driving, my wheel had a structural failure. I retraced my route and do not see anything on the route (I.e. Major obstacle). Regardless, this failure is completely unacceptable. I have had other cars in the past and have run over substantial road debris and never had the wheel almost come off of the car.”

NHTSA complaint #11205683, filed 2019-05, 125,000 miles

2012: “While driving this car, I heard a knock coming from the engine!! I had it towed to a Kia dealer and was told that I needed a new engine! This is unacceptable for car that is only 6 years old and all maintenance kept up to date!! I did some checking and other Kia engines with similar or same engine types have been recalled. This make and model needs to included!!”

NHTSA complaint #11124222, filed 2018-09, 127,000 miles

2013: “Driving on a busy highway going approximately 65 MPH when the rpms dropped to zero. I was able to get it on the shoulder without accident. The car was towed to a mechanic who informed me the engine seized up but the oil looked fine. The mechanic thought this was odd. The car had 101,000 miles in it.”
