2019: “My brakes failed as I tried to stop for a traffic light on a city street. There was a car already stopped at the light, which I bumped into. As I was depressing the brake pedal, it 'gave', and the car continued to move forward; I was unable to stop. Luckily, I had already slowed considerably prior to the brakes failing, so no one was hurt and there was minimal damage. The other driver left the scene without exchanging information, and no police report was filed. …”
NHTSA complaint #11300024, filed 2020-01, 6,000 miles2020: “Volume on vess and backup alert system greatly exceeds recommended levels, to the point where backing up out of garage can annoy neighbors in their homes. When backing out of a parking spot at a local strip mall, the volume of the backup alert from the vess was so shocking that it startled a pedestrian, causing them to trip and almost fall on their face. Kia does not provide a way to reduce vess volume to closer to NHTSA recommended levels. …”
NHTSA complaint #11383350, filed 2020-12, 89 miles2023: “The car continues to not be able to charge at home. My other electric car (different manufacturer polestar) with the same cord charges without issues. The cord only allows 27amps and the car abruptly stops charging over and over. I have to reset it constantly. This continues to be an issue and the car shows no problems with the battery and there is no fix from Kia.”
