“On multiple occasions, the car has flashed an error on the dash stating there was a problem with the hybrid system. It immediately slows down without time to merge over causing extreme danger on a busy highway several cars swerved to miss the Kia because there was nothing I can do. this has happened several times and Kia is well aware as I’ve had multiple communications with them.”
NHTSA complaint #11684015, filed 2025-08“I was driving when another vehicle hit my driver side tire area. Car was totaled but no airbags deployed. It is not available since it has been towed to the salvage yard. I have back pain, however we were fortunate not to have more injuries. It was inspected but not sure if they found anything wrong with the airbags.”
NHTSA complaint #11577403, filed 2024-03“There's a problem with the horn in my car. Either the high or low. The problem is intermittent and the horn will fail and it is not available in emergency situations. I brought this to the dealership and made them aware but they refuse to take this seriously and two adequately evaluate the car. They blew the horn and said it was working. It was not working and I said it was intermittent and they said well we could not find any problem. There were no warning lights. Nothing else. The horn is just intermittently failing.”
NHTSA complaint #11749268, filed 2026-07“The car has an issue where the Apple CarPlay system randomly disconnects. I have brought this to the dealership multiple times and they have not been able to fix it. This is a safety hazard because each time the system disconnects and then reconnects, the driver needs to restart the apps that are running at the time which causes a distraction while driving. I have recorded this and also researched this online and it appears to be a very common issue with the Kia systems. …”
NHTSA complaint #11560522, filed 2023-12“The dash is textured. In direct sunlight, the texture reflects on the windshield and makes it difficult to see. The other day I came close to hitting a pedestrian because I didn’t them. It is so dangerous!”
