“An airbag malfunction light illuminated on my dash today. I scanned the car for stored faults and found several, but one in particular was for the passenger frontal airbag/seat. The fault code said there was improper serial data values received. The car has just crossed over 50,000 miles within the last month, however it is still within 4 years of purchase. Since the mileage is over 50,000 miles, I was told by dealership there is no warranty left for the airbags. Since this is a major safety feature, I believe this should be repaired at manufacturer's expense. …”
NHTSA complaint #11151297, filed 2018-11, 53,000 miles“Communication error with system. This controls all functions from braking to cameras to suspension and audio/phone. Research shows that this is a habitual issue on almost all Land Rover models with no fix except to replace entire infotainment center which parts only range from 3-6k. Something needed to be done. This is supposed to be a high end vehicle. There are so many blogs with the same issue with no fix”
NHTSA complaint #11618207, filed 2024-10“The contact owns a 2014 Land Rover LR4. When the vehicle came to a complete stop, the vehicle went into eco mode and stalled when the brake pedal was released. The vehicle was able to be restarted. The failure recurred on several occasions. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who diagnosed that the battery terminal was loose. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure recurred. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 700.”
